Shots fired in Milwaukee on Friday leave 3 dead and 25 injured, officials say

On Friday, May 13, the Milwaukee Police Department responded to ten distinct shootings in a span of less than 12 hours.

During one event close to Water and Juneau, there were three people who passed away and a total of 25 people who were hurt, including 17 people who were shot.

Approximately forty-five minutes after the initial incident at 91st and Marion, further gunfire was heard near 22nd and Keefe. A male resident of Milwaukee, age 23, was reportedly sent to the hospital by the police. According to the medical examiner for Milwaukee County, he succumbed to his wounds and passed away later.

7th Street and Capitol Avenue
At about 1:30 in the afternoon, a guy in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, aged 42 was shot and taken to the hospital. It is thought that he will pull through this.

The intersection of Hadley and 25th
A teenage guy from Milwaukee was shot just after 4 o’clock in the afternoon. The treatment for the adolescent started off at the local hospital. The search for the unidentified suspects continues for the police.

Vel R. Phillips and Vienna
After thirty minutes, police in Milwaukee reported that a man in his thirties had been shot and taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. An altercation preceded the shooting that took place.

22nd and Keefe Around 6:40 p.m., police were summoned back to the area of 22nd and Keefe for a second shooting that had taken place there. At the scene, a man in his thirties from Milwaukee was pronounced dead.

Both Lake Drive and Kenilworth can be found in this neighborhood.

After being shot in the stomach at approximately 7:10 p.m., a 24-year-old male from Milwaukee was rushed to the hospital for treatment. It is thought that he will pull through this.

MLK and Highland intersection

At approximately 9:15 p.m., not long after the conclusion of the Bucks game, a guy in his twenties (29), a man in his twenties (26), and a teenage girl (16), were all shot and injured outside of the Deer District. A male suspect aged 19 was detained for questioning.

At a news conference held on Saturday afternoon, the Mayor of Milwaukee, Cavalier Johnson, stated that “what transpired here in this area last night will not be accepted.”

According to Assistant Police Chief Nicole Waldner, “there was just open carrying of firearms with blatant contempt for life.” “Two groups of individuals engaged in gunfire with each other. Why do people have the misguided notion that they may simply engage in gunplay on a public thoroughfare?”

Investigations are being conducted by the MPD.
It is now unknown what led to each incident, and the police are currently looking for unidentified suspects.
